| Previous Experience: | | Dates | Location | Description | | Sep 2006 – Aug 2009 | North London | Teresita worked for a British family on the position of a full-time live-out housekeeper (with occasional childcare). Her working hours were Monday to Friday from 8 am – 8 pm (additionally Saturday half a day. Teresita’s daily routine was to tidy up the kitchen after breakfast , wash up, wipe the table, vacuum he floor and wipe it. Later Teresita would put washing on, sort the laundry and start ironing (the family had two children so ironing took up to 3 hours a day). Once the ironing was done, Teresita would make beds and change bed linen once a week. Around midday Teresita would go for some food shopping (she used to cook for the family and needed to buy necessary ingredients for diner). Back at home, Teresita would carry on with her houseworks, i.e. she would vacuum carpets in all the rooms and wipe wooden floors (once every month she would also wax them). Sometimes when mum brought children from school Teresita was asked to look after them for up to two hours (sole charge) or if parents would go out she would babysit kids. Also twice a week, Teresita would polish antiques and marble. Teresita was happy to accompany the family during the holiday (she has gone with them to Israel, Switzerland and Mauritius). Teresita left that position because the contract expired. | | Oct 2005 – Aug 2006 | Maida Vale, London | Teresita was employed by a British family on the position of a full-time live-in housekeeper. Her working hours were Monday to Friday (every third week she would work 4 days a week) from 8 am – 6 pm. Teresita was in charge of cleaning a 4-bedroom house with a dining room, study and a spacious utility room. Teresita’s daily routine was to prepare breakfast for two children and their parents, then tidy up after breakfast, load the dishwasher, wipe the table and clean marble surfaces in the kitchen. When children and parents left the house, Teresita would tidy up their rooms (i.e. make their beds, change bed linen once a week, take dirty laundry for washing, dust furniture and vacuum carpets). As for the living room and study, Teresita paid special attention to the cleaning of those rooms as there were many guests visiting the family on daily basis who would normally be seated in the living room or study. Later she would do washing, laundry, ironing and some needlework. Additionally, the family had a big collection of antiques which come from South America and needed regular polishing. At around midday, Teresita usually went out for shopping (she bought mainly food and cleaning stuff) and also she would go to the post office or bank to make some payments if asked. Back at home Teresita would either wax furniture (once a week) or hang out washing, and start ironing clothes (which usually took around 2 hours). Once a month, Teresita was expected to clean windows from inside in all the rooms. Later in the afternoon, she would keep herself busy with little jobs such as cleaning window blinds, skirtings, polishing stainless steel parts of furniture in the house. At around 4.30 pm, Teresita started preparing dinner for the whole family (4 people, twice a week, she would also bake a cake). When finished cooking, Teresita would wash up, make sure that kitchen is all nice and clean before she left. Teresita left that position due to the end of the contract. | | Sep 2009 – Apr 2010 | North-West London | Teresita worked for a British family on the position of a full-time live-in housekeeper. Her working hours were Monday to Saturday from 8.30 am – 6.30 pm (on Saturday she would only work half day 7. 30 am – 12.30 pm). There were no children in the family, so Teresita was responsible for housekeeping only. Teresita’s daily routine would usually start with hanging out the washing she did the day before, putting some extra washing on, sorting laundry (folding underwear and socks, putting aside clothes for ironing), cleaning the kitchen after breakfast and loading the dishwasher. Once the kitchen was finished, Teresita would start dusting furniture and polishing silver and brass in the living room and study. In the meantime Teresita would feed a dog (the family had a Labrador) and let him in to the garden (she walk the dog twice a day). Once Teresita finished dusting and polishing, she would start vacuuming carpets in the house and make sure that bed linen is fresh and clean, once it was finished Teresita would wipe all the floors in the house. After that Teresita would go for some food shopping and make some payments in a bank or post office for the family if asked. Later in the afternoon, Teresita would walk the dog and feed him. Towards the evening, Teresita would start preparing dinner for the couple and before she left she would walk the dog once again. The reason why Teresita left that position was due to the reducing her working hours. | | July 2012 - present | Bayswater | | | 06/2010 – 12/2011 | | | | July 2010-Jan 2012 | Teresita went to the Filipines to visit her family | |
