About Carer-Housekeeperes
General Information
Carer-Housekeepers are suitable for clients with more extensive needs, such as disabilities or illness. They would assist them in full personal care, assistance in getting out of bed including lifting them, feeding and looking after their general well being including overnight charge. The Carer-Housekeeper would also make sure that the house is tidy at all times, as well as preparing meals and running errands. Having said that, duties really depend on the client's condition and may vary so it's best to discuss requirements with one of our consultants.
Duties
Happy Home Carer-Housekeepers duties include:
- Companionship and looking after client’s needs and general well being at all time
- Administration of medication
- Looking after petty cash, paying bills and banking
- Accompanying to and from appointments, transport to shopping, including doctor appointments, travel abroad and family visits etc
- Organising doctors/hospital appointments as well as dealing with doctors or nurses
- Managing the diary, dealing with contractors
- Assistance with personal care
- Manual handling and lifting
- Looking after petty cash, paying bills and banking
- Cooking and shopping
- Light housework and laundry
Qualifications
Our candidates will have either an NVQ level 2 in care or at least 4 years of experience as a carer, to include lifting training, people handling training, safeguarding of vulnerable adults, medication awareness, emergency First Aid , communication and record keeping. Happy Home Staff will apply for CRB check on behalf of the candidate.
Working Hours and Pay
Live-in Carer-Housekeepers would work 5 to 6 days a week, 10 to 12 hours a day, with 2 to 3 hours off per day taken at a convenient time for the client.
Salaries generally start at £80 net per day, but are dependent on experience. Should the Carer-Housekeeper be required to be on call during the night or other out of hours times, you should allow for an additional £20 net per night or £5 per each call out.
Daily Carer-Housekeepers would work 8 to 10 hours a day with a salary of £90+ net per day and should be entitled to have at least 1 full day off during the week.
Verification
All our applicants must have a minimum of 4 years experience in the UK. Our Carer-Housekeepers must have at least 2 years experience working in domestic services with 2 checkable references.
