A Nanny-Housekeeper is expected to be able to take complete charge of the children including all tasks relating to the children’s well-being. This includes tasks such as washing, ironing, cooking or potty training. He/she can be expected to carry out general housework outside of the children's domain. This type of help is excellent for parents who are either at home and like the flexibility of someone around them, or people with flexible working hours, such as business owners, teachers and so on. Saying this, many families are now opting for Nanny-Housekeepers to work with their newborn baby. Their role would be of a Nanny from the beginning (very often families would employ additional help such as a Cleaner), and as the needs of the family changes over time, with children starting nursery or school, the role would evolve into more housekeeping, cooking, shopping during the day, and nannying in the afternoon. Because of this flexibility, Nanny-Housekeepers tend to stay with their employer for many years and become very much a part of the family.
A Nanny-Housekeeper is expected to be able to take complete charge of the children including all tasks relating to the children’s well-being, e.g. washing, ironing, cooking and potty training. He/she can be expected to carry out general housework beyond taking care of the children’s rooms and belongings, obviously in reasonable order.
Some Nanny-Housekeepers are able to assist with admin duties for home businesses, paying bills, organising social engagement and the like. These are often termed NannyHousekeeper-PA.
Nanny-Housekeeper Cooks are excellent cooks who are able to help organise and cook for dinner parties or larger events
Some Nanny-Housekeepers have nursing or midwifery qualifications, or even educated to degree level in a relevant subject such as teaching. However, it is very likely that the qualification would be not from UK.
They should also hold a First Aid Certificate (can be obtained once they're already in the UK).
Nanny-housekeepers expect to be paid around £450-650 net per week for live-in positions. Live-out positions start from £11-12 net per hour.
Nanny–Housekeepers work around 10 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Live-in Nanny-Housekeepers would be expected to do 1 or 2 nights of babysitting per week, and occasionally would be asked to work on Saturday mornings as well.
Perhaps the most important aspect of our work is the verification around our applicants. We take this seriously and set a high standard in our process.
